Our Founder

Ensign Technologies was founded in 2004 by the visionary leader, James Lee Vann.

James Lee Vann is a writer, web designer and developer, programmer, technician, teacher, consultant and all around technologist. He is also an avid historian, political scientist, and philosopher. Most importantly, he is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a disciple of Jesus Christ. His vision includes promoting innovative technology and revolutionizing the way people use said technology.

 

His two favorite topics of conversation are religion and politics. He also enjoys technology (obviously) and games.

James Lee Vann grew up in the Ozarks, and he's pleased with his Southern heritage. Growing up in a small community, in a family as one of nine children, James learned the value of hard work, education, honesty, and industry. James quickly developed an interest in technology, playing games like Super Mario Bros as a child.

James developed his knowledge at Fair Play School, and also at the Dallas County Area Vo-Tech. He learned leadership skills through his involvement in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Boy Scouts of America and in High School in the National FFA Organization, the FBLA, and Skills-USA VICA. He also enjoyed the hard work and competitiveness of the Cross Country Team.

After he graduated from High School, James was called to serve two years as a missionary for the LDS Church, in the Utah Ogden Mission. During these two years, James gained experience that will continue to motivate and guide him for many years to come. It was a fantastic experience, and a great opportunity to serve his fellow man.

After his two year mission, James returned home to South West Missouri, and founded Ensign Technologies LLC in 2004. With a goal of pushing the barriers of technology, Ensign Technologies has developed a solid position as the ultimate source in Southwest Missouri for technology consulting and services.

James has continued to pursue ever greater knowledge and skills, seeking to be the very best at what he does. Part of James' education plan has been attending Ozarks Technical Community College, first studying computer programming and now studying business and marketing. James has also taught computer repair technology as an adjunct instructor at OTC.

In addition to college studies, James is engaged in computer science studies and research that cover a wide variety of topics. He spends a great deal of time everyday following the tech industry, and learning about the latest developments in the business world. James is the principal contributor to the Ensign Technologies Blog. While the future may be uncertain, one thing is for sure, opportunities abound! And Ensign Technologies LLC will be right there, pushing technology forward and bringing it home, in a very literal way.
